Santa Barbara Surf Forecast - for Friday - 1/29/2010

The WNW-NW swell drops off a bit more on Friday…and the morning 7’ high tide pretty much puts the surf in a coma. Look for flat to barely breaking surf early as we muscle through that extra water…but once the tide drops we start to see some knee-waist high waves with a few bigger sets coming through at the well exposed spots. New WNW-NW swell will fill in more through the afternoon but the longer swell-periods on the first part of this swell won’t wrap in Santa Barbara very well…it might be worth heading south to check though.

Light and variable to light offshore winds for the morning. Light winds, variable below 10-knots, will be on tap through midafternoon and then may back down a bit around sundown.
