Santa Barbara Surf Forecast - For Friday - 1/08/10

Make sure to read the full region forecast...it will help this one make sense, (Not promising any miracles though). Click here for the full forecast www.socalsurf.com.

The swell will be showing pretty well on Friday (one of the bonuses of being close to Point Conception)…expect a pretty decent uptick in size for the morning. Most average breaks will be in the chest-high range with some shoulder high sets. Standout W-WNW facing spots will be in the chest-shoulder high+ range pretty consistently with a few head high and overhead sets mixing in as we head towards the afternoon.

Winds look good…E around 10-15 knots for the morning and then downshifting a couple of notches but staying sort of variable (even variable offshore/sideshore) for the afternoon. Looks like a really good chance that it will stay pretty clean and surfable throughout the day.

Here are the tides…
