Santa Barbara Surf Forecast - for Friday - 2/12/2010

New W-NW swell will be filling in throughout the day…unfortunately the swell periods are going to be pretty long at first which doesn’t really let the energy wrap into Santa Barbara properly. There will be some new size but not the full blast of what will be hitting Ventura. Look for many spots to be in the knee-chest high range through the morning with some shoulder high+ sets showing at the best WNW-NW facing breaks through the South Half of the County. Look for the sets to become more consistent through the end of the day…but expect much more size showing on Saturday and Sunday as the swell fills in and the periods start to back down a bit.
Winds look ok…sort of variable around 5-knots in the morning…and then NNW around 10-15+ knots for the afternoon.
